Description
$275 (per person) includes an online webinar for 4 hours of CPE credit
Surveys are a powerful yet often underutilized tool in the government auditor’s toolkit. When designed and administered correctly, they provide credible testimonial evidence that strengthens findings, supports conclusions, and meets the rigorous requirements under GAGAS. This practical 4-hour course gives government auditors the knowledge and confidence to incorporate surveys into their audit methodology with intention and precision. Participants will explore when surveys are the right choice for meeting audit objectives and how they compare to other forms of evidence, including interviews. From crafting well-constructed questions to navigating the full survey development process, this course walks auditors through every stage with real-world examples drawn directly from government audit practice. Participants will see firsthand how surveys are applied in a live audit environment and leave with strategies they can connect to their own audit work. This course is ideal for government auditors at any experience level who want to expand their methodological toolkit and produce audit evidence that is objective, credible, and defensible under government auditing standards. Learning Objectives:- Identify situations where using a survey may best meet the audit objectives
- Determine how to identify the information that needs to be collected
- Recognize what constitutes a well-constructed question
- Describe the survey development process
